A Moment of Glance
He could hear clanks of footsteps behind him as he strode to the cafe. It has been two days he is out of coffee at his place since the sachets expired and he kept on forgetting to go to the store to get a new packet.
“She must be wearing heels” as he heard the clank more louder as it is a sign that the woman walk behind him getting nearer to overtook him.
He felt something dangling at his shoes and by looking down, both of his shoe laces magically untied himself. Just a few feet away from the cafe’s door, he thinks for a split second whether to go in and tie his shoe laces inside or do it outside; he chose the latter.
Inevitably, the lady behind surpass him as he squat to tie both of his shoes. Notably, it is consider an acceptable act where you look around while tying your shoes. So he did.
There she was, taking a quick glance behind and both of them meet for the first time face to face, eyes to eyes; exchanging sight as she pull the door before she disappear as the door close slowly.
Before the door completely close, the handle gripped by his hand pulling the it again; the same gesture as the girl in heels who went inside. He knows behind this door, there will be an exciting moment in his life waiting for him to happen inside.
